How To Make A Sinful Bakery Cake – Part 2 Layer Cake Assembly
Gather the ingredients from part 1. Begin assembly by placing a dab of whipped cream on the cake board, placing a chocolate layer on top and moistening it with simple syrup. Spread a layer of coffee whipped cream on.

- Place a dab of whipped cream on the cake board to secure cake to board.
- Place the bottom layer of chocolate cake on and moisten with simple syrup.
- Add a layer of coffee whipped cream.
Place the second layer of cake (vanilla) on top. Moisten with simple syrup. Spread a layer of chocolate whipped cream next. Place the third cake layer (chocolate) next. Moisten with simple syrup. Spread a layer of Dulce de Leche whipped cream next.
- Place the second layer of vanilla cake on and moisten with simple syrup.
- Add a layer of chocolate whipped cream and spread.
- Place the third layer of chocolate cake on and moisten with simple syrup.
- Add a layer of Dulce de lecge whipped cream and spread.
Place the fourth cake layer (marble) next. Moisten with simple syrup. Make a whipped cream dam around the outer edge, fill inside the dam with chocolate ganache. Place the fifth/top layer of cake next (vanilla). Moisten with simple syrup.
- Place the fourth layer of marble cake on and moisten with simple syrup.
- Build a whipped cream dam and fill the inside with chocolate ganache.
- Place the top layer of cake on and moisten with simple syrup.
Time to ice the cake with chocolate whipped cream. I am using a piping bag to pipe on the whipped cream, then spreading it with an icing spatula. Ice the top and sides smooth.
- Using piping bag to apply chocolate whipped cream to the sides of the cake.
- Adding chocolate whipped cream to the top of the cake.
- ice the sides and top of the cake smooth with icing spatula.
Mix the sweetened flaked coconut and the chocolate jimmies (sprinkles) together. Press into the side of the cake. Add chocolate whipped cream rosettes to the top.
- Adding chocolate jimmies (sprinkles) to sweetened coconut flakes.
- Press the coconut flakes / chocolate jimmie mixture onto the side of the cake.
- Add rosettes to the top of the cake.
Drizzle some chocolate ganache on the rosettes and make some dots on top of the cake. Finish off with chocolate curls/shavings.
- Drizzle chocolate ganache over the rosettes.
- Adding chocolate curls to the rosettes.
