These cupcakes are always a hit. The hidden Oreo® cookie is a wonderful surprise that keep everyone guessing on how you did that!

How To Make Oreo Surprise Cupcakes

I am using a half recipe of my The Best Secret Chocolate Cake Recipe for the cupcake batter.  Preheat the oven to 350ºF/177ºC.  A red handled disher (ice cream scoop) (#24 or 1-1/3 ounce) to measure out my batter,  Place some of your cupcake batter in the liner, add an Oreo® cookie and top with the remaining cupcake batter.

Fill all you cupcake liners up.  Bake in a preheated 350ºF/177ºC oven for 18-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

When done allow the cupcakes to cool completely.  Fill a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip with flavored whipped cream.  Pipe a large rosette on top of each cupcake.

Heat the ganache up so it is pourable, you do not want it hot.  Fill a paper cone, snip the end of the cone off and drizzle ganache over the cupcakes. Garnish with a half an Oreo® cookie.  Enjoy.  These cupcakes must be kept refrigerated due to the perishable whipped cream.
