Food Coloring - gels or pastes work best
Additional Equipment or Items
Powdered Sugar or Corn Starch or Solid Vegetable Shortening
Toothpicks
Gloves

Fondant Rolling Mats
Instructions
Place the desired amount of fondant you wish to color on a clean work surface.
I am going to lightly sprinkle my work surface with powdered sugar, but you can use corn starch or even lightly grease the surface with solid vegetable shortening. If you are using a fondant mat, you may not need anything.
Lightly knead the fondant to loosen it up. Add the food coloring in small amounts..
Knead in the coloring. Kneading may take several minutes. Add more food coloring as needed.
TIP = if the fondant becomes sticky, you may want to wash your hands in cold water and/or chill the fondant in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
When you reached the desired color. Wrap the fondant in plastic wrap or in a plastic bag (squeeze out all the air) and store in an air tight container. Knead before using.
