This is a special New Year’s Eve 2014 Black Forest Cake.  The client wanted coconut on the side so that is what the client got.  We have to please the customer. I hope you enjoy this and make it yourself.

How To Make A Black Forest Cake

This is a 4 layer The Best Secret Chocolate Cake with simple syrup and stabilized whipped cream frosting. Bake you chocolate cake layers, remove the dome and cut the layers into 2.  The black cherry  filling a purchased item.  You will also need sweetened shredded coconut and maraschino cherries.

To being assembly of the cake, place a dab of whipped cream on a cake board. Set the bottom layer on top.  Brush with simple syrup, add whipped cream.

Place the next cake layer on top.  Brush the cake with simple syrup. Pipe a whipped cream dam around the outer edge 2 layers high.

Fill inside the dam with black cherry pie filling.  Place the next layer of cake on top.  Brusg with simple syrup.

Add whipped cream filling.  Place top layer of cake on top.  Brush with simple syrup.

Add additional whipped cream on the sides, smooth the sides with an icing spatula and ice the top smooth.

Press sweetened shredded/flaked coconut into the sides of the cake.  Pipe 8 rosettes on to and garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Complete the decorating by added 2014 fondant pieces,
